Following on from WordCamp US 2022, we asked our CTO Paul Halfpenny to tell us about his favourite speaker from the event.

Paul attended this years sold-out WordCamp US event, in San Diego, which took place from the 9th to the 11th of September.

You can read all about Paul’s experience at the event here.

He managed to attend quite a few different talks, as well as taking part in contributor day.

One talk in particular peaked our interest, which was given by Beka Rice who is the Senior Director of Product Management at GoDaddy.

Beka’s talk was titled: ‘Connected Commerce: Evolving to Multichannel Selling‘ and explained how to evolve your eCommerce business to an ‘omni-channel customer acquisition experience’.

The talk covered how to choose channels which are best for different sectors and keeping commerce data connected between those channels.

Some of the benefits for multichannel commerce include:

One of the main channels Beka mentions is WooCommerce, which she states is a great option for most sellers.

WooCommerce ‘has 26% share of the top 1 million e-commerce sites’ and is actively used on over 3 million websites online. It also boasts an extensive partner network called WooExperts.

Filter has recently joined this network and we are now a silver level WooExpert – click here to read more.

Other beneficial channels include social media accounts, online marketplaces such as Amazon, physical distributors and creating a companion app.
