WordCamp Europe 2022: Paul’s Top Talk

9 June 2022 2 mins read

In this article we ask our CTO, Paul Halfpenny, to pick his top speaker from this year’s WordCamp Europe event, which took place in Portugal last week.

Man wearing sunglasses stands in front of a large building with "Arbos Arena" visible. To the left, a sign displays "WordCamp Europe 2022." The setting suggests a conference or event venue.

Our CTO, Paul Halfpenny, was invited to give a lightning talk at this years WordCamp Europe 2022 on our WP-DXP plugin. You can read more about his experience here.

We asked Paul to choose his favourite speaker from the conference and he chose to feature Felix Arntz, Developer Relations Engineer at Google and WordPress Core Committer.

During his talk, Felix explained how the state of performance in CMS is improving and gave an insight into the newly introduced WordPress Performance Team. His presentation was titled “Enhancing performance in an open-source CMS ecosystem”.

I chose Felix as my top speaker from the event (although it was hard to pick just one!) because his talk was really interesting. It made me think more about how we could improve WordPress performance.
