Should Personalisation Be Added To WordPress Core?

You may be hearing more from our founders Oliver Morrison & Paul Halfpenny in 2023, starting with an appearance on the WP Tavern Jukebox Podcast!

A man with short hair and a beard stands against a gray textured wall, wearing a blue checkered shirt. Next to him are the words "WP Tavern" and a pink "On Air" sign.

We’re excited to announce that our very own CTO Paul Halfpenny, recently made an appearance on the WP Tavern Jukebox Podcast!

If you’re not familiar with WP Tavern, it’s a news website focusing on the world of WordPress, covering a range of topics including the Gutenberg project, core development, e-commerce, community, plugins, themes, events and more. The WP Tavern Jukebox Podcast was launched in March 2021 and has featured over 50 industry experts discussing important WordPress related topics.

Paul joined Nathan Wrigley to discuss whether personalisation should be included in WordPress core and explore the topic of personalisation as a whole.

The episode is available now, across all podcast platforms or simply follow this link.

There are no personalisation features currently available as part of WordPress Core but the question is, should there be?

In case you missed it, we created our very own personalisation plugin to fill this gap. PersonalizeWP allows users to apply a variety of conditional rules to blocks via the Gutenberg block editor, in order to enable personalisation functions.

If you would like to know more about web strategy for mid to enterprise organisations, feel free to get in touch, our dedicated team are always happy to help.

You can also read through our previous news and resource articles for a deeper insight into the digital space.

Before you go, why not connect with Oliver Morrison and Paul Halfpenny on LinkedIn for more day to day updates.
