Our work with Crystal Palace FC is always evolving and we are continually assessing ways to support the club in showcasing its South London facilities and offerings at the iconic Selhurst Park stadium.
As well as hosting 25,000 passionate fans on Matchday, Selhurst Park plays host to a wide range of events throughout the calendar year including birthdays, weddings, celebrations, business meetings, training, pitch hire and much more.
In addition, Selhurst Park holds regular Business Club events featuring headline speakers from the Sport and Business worlds. Previous event speakers include, Matt Le Tissier, Neil Ashton, Frank Bruno, Matthew Hoggard, Roger Wade, Ed Warner and many more.
With 15 premium events spaces available for hire, Crystal Palace are keen to engage with wider audiences, to offer facilities for non-matchday use, to host corporate events, weddings, celebrations, wakes, training days, Christmas parties and much more.
An important contributor to non-matchday revenue, it is essential that Selhurst Park is well utilised, with each of its spaces well showcased to allow for customers to understand the differences between all of the spaces available. The details presented on the website provide the context for the call to action to Enquire or Request a call back.
The Selhurst Park website was built using WordPress and has gone through a number of iterations, as well as having a continuous improvement roadmap in place.
To support the galleries in place and to provide easy options to ‘Enquire’ we offered the club 360º Virtual Tours for all of the spaces available for hire.
To create these images, our team at Filter used the Matterport camera system to scan every event space. The camera not only captured visual imagery but also depth data. This data was then compiled into a fully navigable 3D model of each of the spaces
These captured models were then optimised and marked-up with additional information using a combination of text and images. Tours of the annotated spaces were built to highlight the key features of each space and to direct the viewer through the space while still allowing them to explore. The tours were then embedded onto the website alongside the existing copy and images providing fans and customers with an exact view of the space they can enjoy as part of their event experience.
Using the Matterport camera system enabled us to fully deliver on the project brief. The Matterport is versatile, allowing you to capture images from almost anywhere, produce a realistic virtual environment, add meta-data to the digital model and present in a number of different ways.
The impact of the Matterport 360º tours has been incredibly positive, producing an uplift in conversion rate from traffic through to enquiry.
As the Selhurst Park offering continues to evolve, we have further shoots planned and hope to introduce WooCommerce Bookings to enhance the experience even further, allowing the club to take bookings online and sell optional room extras, such refreshments and a variety of dining options.
