Why Is Networking Important For A Remote Workforce?

To celebrate International Networking Week, we’ve put together an article on why exactly networking is important – especially when it comes to working remotely.

The 15th annual International Networking Week campaign starts on the 6th February, featuring a range of global networking focused events. The campaign was created by Business Networking International and aims to help business leaders to connect and build their networking skills together. To celebrate the campaign, we wanted to delve into the reasons why networking is important to remote-first teams like our own.

Networking is an essential aspect of professional development and career advancement, and it is especially important for remote workers. In today’s increasingly connected world, remote work has become a popular and viable option for many professionals, but it also comes with its own set of challenges.

One of the most significant challenges is a lack of in-person face-to-face interaction. Networking can provide remote workers with the connections, resources, and support they need to be successful. Networking allows remote workers to build relationships with other professionals and companies in their industry. This can lead to new business opportunities, collaborations, and access to valuable resources and information.

For example, networking can help remote workers stay informed about industry developments, trends, and best practices. It can also help them stay up-to-date with the latest tools and technologies. Additionally, networking can help remote workers identify potential mentors and sponsors who can offer guidance and support as they navigate their careers.

As part of International Networking Week, BNI are hosting various speed networking sessions throughout the day on Tuesday 7th February 2023. Find out more here.
