Introducing Char Bryce, Digital Account Manager

We’ve welcomed a few new team members recently, including Char Bryce, who is our newest recruit (for now!). Char has joined the team as a Digital Account Manager, read more about her background and her new role below.

Char, could you describe your role in 50 words or less?

I will be the main day-to-day contact for key clients at Filter, supporting the delivery of current and new projects. My role is to help advance client’s digital capabilities, capturing requirements and enabling the team to turn their dreams into reality.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

My work background started in eLearning software sales and implementation after which I ventured into marketing, learning about everything marketing related, managing projects and client accounts.

I am a film lover, gamer, gardener, craft beer lover and foodie, and I do everything I can to help save our planet. My dream is to own a butterfly farm!

What has been the hardest problem you’ve had to solve so far in your career?

This is a tough one! Probably trying to organise hosting for a previous prospective client’s 3 separate websites 1 day before their hosting was due to expire. It may not sound like it’d be hard, but the client cancelled their existing hosting and didn’t tell us until the day before (which was a Friday!). Let’s just say they didn’t comprehend the fallout of not being prepared.

And what has been most interesting or satisfying project you’ve worked on in your career so far?

The most satisfying project I’ve worked on was a health and wellbeing scheme for the NHS in Hertfordshire. The project was created to give something back to the local community, to businesses who shut their doors to help protect the NHS during the first pandemic lockdown in 2020. It also provided offers and rewards for key workers as a health and wellbeing benefit.

What made you decide to take the opportunity to join Filter, and what excites you most about the work so far?

I’ve been at Filter for just over a month and I’ve had a great time. One of the main reasons I decided to take the opportunity to join the team was to learn new and exciting things relating to websites. The personalisation capabilities in Optimizely was a huge driver to join Filter.

What’s your current remote working set-up like?

My current set-up includes the usual laptop, monitor etc. but it’s also my living room so I have all my home comforts, quick access to the kitchen for coffee and of course, my cats!

What technology trends or developments are you most excited about, looking ahead into 2022?

Like Jason, I’m intrigued to see the impact AI and ML will have on websites!
