We’re strengthening our core service offerings at Filter and are looking for an exceptional individual to lead and grow our SEO and Paid Media capabilities.

Role Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Head of SEO and Paid Media to deliver hands-on expertise and strategic direction for our clients, driving organic growth, paid media performance, and measurable business impact.

You’ll personally execute and oversee both organic SEO strategies and paid media campaigns, using data-led insights and performance-driven tactics to accelerate client success and deliver high-impact results. As we grow, you’ll build and mentor a team to expand these core Filter services.

This is a permanent, full-time role. Remote-first. UK-based.

Key Responsibilities

We’d expect you to take on the following:

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive SEO strategies for our clients, including technical SEO, content optimisation, and link building
  • Conduct thorough SEO audits and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for organic growth
  • Develop and implement data-driven PPC strategies that maximize ROI for our clients
  • Create and optimize landing pages to improve conversion rates
  • Stay current with industry trends, algorithm updates, and platform changes
  • Manage client relationships and effectively communicate performance results and strategic recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with our web development, design, and content teams to ensure integrated digital strategies
  • Gradually build and mentor a team of SEO and paid media specialists as the service area grows
  • Set KPIs and report on performance metrics to demonstrate value and ROI to clients

Requirements & Skills

The right person is likely to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in SEO and paid media management, with demonstrable success in improving organic rankings and managing profitable paid campaigns
  • Strong hands-on technical knowledge of SEO best practices, including experience with tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console
  • Proven expertise in managing paid campaigns across multiple platforms with substantial budget responsibility
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Excellent client communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Team leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members
  • Experience working with mid-market and enterprise businesses
  • Certification in Google Ads, Google Analytics, and other relevant platforms (preferred)

Benefits

We are offering the following benefits for this position:

  • A friendly, supportive, and family-friendly working environment
  • 27 holiday days per year + Bank Holidays
  • Flexible working hours and arrangements
  • UK-based remote-first working
  • Provision of high standard equipment
  • A range of other benefits once you get started
  • Stakeholder pension

Culture

We’re a family-orientated business, and value a working environment that helps us to spend time out of work. That means we typically work standard hours and don’t expect you to work weekends. We meet on a virtual basis every Monday morning at 9am (this is non-negotiable) so that we can check in on how everyone is doing and what we’re up to.

We reward our team as often as we can – and are friendly, fun, and non-judgemental. There is no ‘office politics’ and our hierarchy is as flat as we can make it.
