Job Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced WordPress plugin developer to join our team as the lead developer for our WP-DXP plugin.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with WordPress development, as well as strong skills in JavaScript/React, external databases, tracking and analytics.

This is a permanent / full-time role.


We’d expect you to take on the following responsibilities in your role:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of the WP-DXP plugin, ensuring its functionality, performance, and compatibility with the latest versions of WordPress.
  • Collaborate closely with the product management team to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and design plans.
  • Design, develop, and deploy new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for the WP-DXP plugin, following best practices and coding standards.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the plugin’s stability, performance, and compatibility across various browsers, devices, and WordPress environments.
  • Integrate external databases, tracking systems, and analytics tools to provide robust data-driven capabilities within the WP-DXP plugin.
  • Maintain documentation for the plugin, including code comments, user guides, and developer resources to facilitate seamless integration and usage of WP-DXP.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in WordPress development, JavaScript/React, and related technologies, and apply them to enhance the WP-DXP plugin.
  • Collaborate with the support team to investigate and resolve customer-reported issues promptly and effectively.
  • Lead and mentor a team of junior developers, providing guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to foster professional growth and maintain code quality standards.
  • Actively participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.


The right person is likely to have these skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development, including custom plugin development, theme development, and WordPress core modification.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and React.js frameworks, with a strong understanding of modern web development principles and front-end technologies.
  • Proven experience integrating external databases, tracking systems, and analytics tools within WordPress plugins or applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and MySQL, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, AJAX, and other relevant web technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git) and following collaborative development workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
